Find Your Stoke is a registered non-profit company which provides in-ocean experiential learning, ocean-based therapeutic exercises and activities with an emphasis on Surf Therapy, nature, fitness, mindfulness and adaptive surfing skill development.
Surf Therapy Fact Sheet
What: Surf Therapy is a holistic approach to combining ocean-based therapeutic elements with the experience of surfing to impact the physical and mental well-being of individuals
Who: Anyone challenged with a Physical, Neurological, Cognitive, Social and Mental impairment can take part in a Surf Therapy session.
How: Each Surf Therapy session takes a structured approach to surfing with accredited surf instructors in a safe and inclusive environment to achieve a therapeutic benefit.
By utilizing a range of ocean-based equipment, participants are able to experience the healing properties of the ocean.
Did you know?
Adaptive Surfing is a great recreational activity for those with a disability.
Adaptive Surfing was introduced to the disabled community of South Africa for the first time in 2011.

Find Your Stoke was founded by multiple South African surfing champion, internationally accredited surf instructor and current 2020 SA Para Surf Team Coach, Tasha Mentasti.
Tasha has over 25 years of surfing and 15 years of surf coaching experience with almost a decade of working with disabled individuals from around South Africa.

They’re 4 basketball courts in Ranerou in Senegal but no one never played basketball. Once, I brought a ball, some shirts and showed them how to play. I had 30 girls who played for the very first time of their life. That was 4 years ago, now they have a team and practice everyday on their own.
I raise this white card in solidity with those who continue to create real positive change by transforming sport to benefit women and girls.
I raise this white card as a symbol to continue highlighting the stories of those who have been positively impacted by sport as we continue to empower, inspire and unite.
The ultimate goal is to assist in removing barriers preventing women from participating in sport at all levels. The World Rafting Federation is supporting women empowerment and gender equality from athletes, to technicians, guides and administration. We are all different and we are all unique: this has to become a power.
