For over 21 years, AJTKD has been helping children and youth overcome adversities and reach their full potential through Taekwondo. Our project was born within the community it was built for. As part of this community, we put our heart and soul in every action we take towards a greater change.
I came as a refugee to Australia from Afghanistan in 2015.I started kickboxing to make my dreams true. In 2018 represented Australia at World kickboxing championship and I got the honor of holding Australian flag in opening ceremony, which makes me happy and proud.
8 years ago, I discovered rugby and values like self-confidence, respect, team spirit. Those values have been part of my life since this day and I am grateful to this sport for everything it has given me over the past 8 years.
I am convinced that this sport is an incredible tool for dialogue.
The ultimate goal is to assist in removing barriers preventing women from participating in sport at all levels. The World Rafting Federation is supporting women empowerment and gender equality from athletes, to technicians, guides and administration. We are all different and we are all unique: this has to become a power.
I believe in an inclusive society, which explores the full potential of individuals, through sport. I realized that sport builds bridges between cultures and carries universal values. I am currently working at the FFSA to give access to sport to people with mental disabilities.
