My name is Keiler and I live in Tierrabomba, in Colombia. After school, I go surfing thanks to Amigos del Mar Foundation, a Colombian NGO willing to improve the living conditions of the community of Tierrabomba. The programs are focused on development through sport, education and entrepreneurship.
Our names are Stellios Diakatos (Special Olympics athlete) and Nikos Mpafaloukos (secondary school student) and we are from Greece. We are teammates in a Special Olympics Unified football Team since 2019, we train and compete together and we have created a strong friendship through sports.
When still a child the Special Olympics family embraced me and today I am an athlete, a World Champion. My achievements helped my community accept me. Through sports I felt loved, confident, independent and capable of many things. Today I raise my white card for inclusion and equity through sports.
DEAR PEACE IN SPORT,
WHEN I STARTED TO THINK ABOUT THE MANAGEMENT OF SPORT IN MY EARLY STUDIES OF WHAT SHOULD SPORT GO IN THERM OF AN ORGANISATION AND HOW THE POWER PF SPORT CAN CHANGE THE WORLD AND HUMANITY. MY PROJECT WAS MORE ENCLINED TO ACT AT THE HIGHEST LEVEL OF SPORT WHICH IS THE INTERNATIONAL OLYMPIC COMITTEE BUT FAILED TO ENTER TO IT IN 2017 WHEN FINALLY GRADUATED AND PASSED BY THE BIGGEST NAME IS SPORT. I THINK SPORT AND PEACE IS TO BE TEACHED AT EARLY AGE IN ALL NOC IN THE WORLD BY EDUCATION PROGRAM AND LINKED ALSO WITH THE BIGGEST HUMANITARIAN WORK ORGANISATION. THE PEACE AND SPORT PROJECT IS HUGE AND AT THE LOWEST STAGE IN THE HIGHEST LEVEL OF SPORT … MY PROJECT IS I HAD ONE FAILED BUT MY NEW ONE IS TO CALL THE WORLD LEADERS THAT THE HIGHEST ORGANISATION IN SPORT HAD NO PROJECT FOR THAT AND STILL DO NOT HAVE… AS I AM ISOLATED THANKS TO THE FRENCH PRESIDENT, I CAN NOT ACT AS I WANT BUT YOU CCAN SHARE MY STORY OF HOW IS IT POSSIBLE TO FAIL IN SPORT ?

Participating in local, national, and international tournaments allows us to understand that the participation of boys, girls, and young adolescents is a process of inclusion which allows changing their realities, attitudes and thoughts.
It doesn’t only the vision of the outside world of those who participate directly, but also of those who share their experiences with them, thus creating a mutual and positive synergy.
LET’S GO TO THE CUP, it is not just playing, it is being a LEADER … an AMBASSADOR, a CULTURAL ATTACHÉ of our regions and our country.
The sense of playing as a team broadens, they are panorama and their perspective for the construction of their new life project in peace.
