The 2020 Elazığ Earthquake occurred at 20:55 local time (17:55 UTC) on 24 January in Turkey. The magnitude of the earthquake was determined to be 6.7 Mw. The earthquake's epicentre was close to the town of Sivrice in Elazığ Province and felt in the neighbouring provinces of Diyarbakır, Malatya and Adıyaman, and the neighbouring countries. Kandilli Observatory reported the magnitude of the earthquake as 6.5 Mw. A total of 41 people were killed and more than 1,600 were injured.

At the UN headquarters in New York, on 23 August 2013, the UN General Assembly declared 6 April as the International Day of Sport for Development and Peace (IDSDP)
Peace Ball Project, which was developed based on the voluntariness of Sebahattin DEVECİOĞLU, an academician from Firat University, Sports Sciences Faculty, Elazig, Turkey giving away “Game Balls” as presents to children.
The main purpose of the “Peace Ball Project” is to express that sports has no discrimination of religion, language or race, emphasize that olympism and sports is a shared value of mankind and ensure “ Peace, Friendship and Brotherhood” by sports.
Peace Ball Project works to get game balls to community leaders, people, foundation, company around the world to help street , disadvantageous, refugess children play
Peace Ball Project is a indivudual organization that is volunteer led. 100% of donations go to partners to buy game balls
