Sports aid network is an international charity passionate about
enriching the lives of less fortunate young people in the developing
world through sports. We catalyze a collaborative response to the
complex sports needs of underprivileged communities and support the
rehabilitation and transformation of youth in post conflict and post
trauma regions around the world through sports. Due to the tribal differences between the Dinka , Madi , Kuku , Kakwa, Nuer and Zande from South Sudan , we shall be holding Sports tournaments and awareness workshops between the month of April and May 2020 at different locations in the different refugee settlements we operate in uganda housing south Sudanese refugees . We shall hold tournaments on 4th and 10th April good Friday in Palabek and Abdjumani refugee settlements respectively , Hold a workshop / trainings for sports coaches and instructors in the refugee settlement on life skills and educating young people in the refugee settlements ages 15 to 25 into being youth leaders who are capable of coaching young kids. This will be in conjunction with Diego a volunteer from Netherlands. And lastly we shall have trainings , coaching and tournaments sessions in Abjumani refugee settlements with 8 volunteers from the japan international cooperation agency from 8th to 10th May 2020. We shall have different sports during these sessions and these are soccer , netball , jump rope , Lacrosse , baseball , spikeball and Dodgeball . Following the commitments that were made in the The first Global Refugee Forum that took place on 16, 17 and 18 December
2019 at the Palais des Nations in Geneva , we are to keenly follow the generated new approaches and long-term commitments in support of the world’s 25 million refugees that were made. However our main objective and goal is to promote reconciliation and co-existence practices among south sudanese refugees. Sport is a great peace factor. when teams face each other
in refugee camps they learn to foster respect, reconciliation and
friendship. Join us today in promoting sports initiatives that we do , which is also an integral
part of child development, helps them make friends and succeed at
school, brings youth together to live in peace and to be more active
within the community and largely promotes reconciliation and co-existence between refugees themselves and the host communities.
