The Global Sports Mentoring Program this year:
1. We plan to host a series of virtual webinars during the same timeframe as the originally scheduled program kicking off with a Zoom on April 6--also the UN IDSDP.
2. We have enlisted the support of GSMP alumni. With former participants from both the espnW GSMP to empower women and Sport for Community prior generations, we stood up an alumni task force. They will match this year at a virtual class with alumni for a buddy/pen pal relationship based on specific sport or area of focus.
3. We are also working with one of the American mentors to develop a series of instructional videos on building adaptive sports equipment at home using every day materials. For years, she has been using say PVC pipe to make an adapted archery bows. Resourceful and something that people can do INDOORS.
The Global Sports Mentoring Program emerges as the pillar to protect disability rights, elevate the status of marginalized populations and foster women's empowerment. Emerging leaders from 65 countries are paired together with America’s top female executives in sports to create change involving U.S. Embassies and world sport leaders trough projects.
A screen shot of the Webinar will be taken during a collective #WhiteCard picture.
