Do you believe in sports for development?
If you believe it or need some prove to do so, the IDB Young Connection Group and Play 4 Development invites you to participate in Sports for Development Campaign “Movie Night” at the IDB. There will be two keynote speakers that will talk about the impact of sports as a tool for development for the youth in the Latin American region; Fabia Koss (IDB Youth) and Dina Buchninder ( Deportes para Compartir NGO). They will be followed by the movie “The Colors of the Mountain” by the Colombian Director Carlos Cesar Arbelaez that portraits the importance of sports in the life of those in need.
Movie Plot Summary
Manuel, is a 9 years old boy, who has an old ball with which he plays football every day in the countryside. He dreams of becoming a great goalkeeper. His wishes seem set to come true when Ernest, his father, gives him a new ball. But an unexpected accident sends the ball flying into a minefield. Despite the danger, Manuel refuses to abandon his treasure... He convinces Julián and Poca Luz, his two friends, to rescue it with him. Amid the adventures and kids' games, the signs of armed conflict start to appear in the lives of the inhabitants of 'La Pradera'.
