On April 5th in celebration of International Day of Sport for
Development and Peace PeacePlayers-Cyprus will be hosting 3 separate
"twinnings" at Ledra Palace in the UN Buffer Zone. Three
PeacePlayers teams from the Greek Cypriot community and three teams from the
Turkish Cypriot community will meet with their "twinned" program from
the opposite community for a full day of connecting youth from across the
divided island through basketball. Following the three matches that
intermix youth from both communities, families will join PeacePlayers for a
barbecue in the Buffer Zone. PeacePlayers-Cyprus plans to make this
year's inaugural International Day of Sport for Development and Peace meaningful
for participants by creating a full day of basketball, barbecues and bridging
