Canoeing for Sport and Development
04 April 2014 21:00 - 22:30
Surrey Canoe Club was founded by Albert Donovan, Watersports Tutor and Canoe England South East Coach of the Year 2013 in order to break down barriers to participation and support community engagement. The club is run by volunteers and membership fees contribute to the programmes the club is running to support disadvantaged youth and the disabled. We are inspired by the power of sport to empower people and promote the values of equality, friendship, determination and excellence.
To celebrate the first ever UN International Day of Sport for Development and Peace we are running canoeing pool taster sessions. We are inclusive and welcome all people offering sessions in a safe and fun manner helping to raise personal and sporting aspirations.
