III Open Special Olympics Swimming Memorial in Opolskie Region, Poland
Founded in 1968, Special Olympics is an IOC-affiliated organisation that provides athletic competitive opportunities for 4,200,000 individuals with an intellectual disability in 170 countries. In Special Olympics Poland there are currently 17.000 athletes training in 478 clubs in 18 regions.
On April 2nd, Special Olympics Poland Opolskie Region is organizing the III Open Special Olympics Swimming Memorial. The Memorial is organized in honor of the Pope John Paul II, who was considered by many as Ambassador of Peace thanks to his influential impact on people's lives.
