Sport for peace, harmony & poverty reduction
01 April 2017 11:00 - 08 April 2017 15:00
Canaries, Saint Lucia
Football, Cricket, Netball & Tree Planting
Our long term goal is similar to that of the Olympic Movement : To contribute to building a peaceful and better world by educating youth through sport practiced without discrimination of any kind and in the spirit of good sportsmanship, mutual understanding , friendship, solidarity and fair play .
Sacred Sports Foundation will celebrate April 6th in Canaries, one of the poorest and most marginalised areas of Saint Lucia .
Our Sport for peace, harmony & poverty reduction day will target children between the ages of 7-14 through a series of physical activities including Football, Cricket and Netball, child safeguarding education and a tree planting exercise. We will bring together young children, adolescents, teachers, youth mentors and family members in a safe and friendly environment.
The purpose is to encourage participants to play an active part in promoting a genuine and lasting culture of peace, human rights and democracy using sport as a catalyst for change. As part of our ongoing activities, we hope to develop these young people to become equipped with the knowledge, skills and attitudes needed to live together in peace and harmony, and to empower them , to discover their talent and make the most of their potential.
