Tibu Africa and Peace and Sport will bring the voice of field actors to the United Nations headquarters on the occasion of the International Day of Sport for Development and Peace.  

They will join the “Scoring for People and the Planet” conference organized by the United Nations Department of Global Communications and the Department of Economic and Social Affairs, with the support of the Permanent Missions of the Principality of Monaco and the State of Qatar to the United Nations. 

Tibu Africa’s President, Amine Zariat, as a partner of the Peacemakers Project deployed by Peace and Sport on three continents, will speak about the program’s progress but also about the obstacles that hinder the use of sport as a means of empowerment for girls and women. This intervention, which will be grounded in the realities of the field, will provide a detailed perspective and recommendations to inform diplomats and stakeholders. 

The event will take place at UN Headquarters on April 6, 2023 from 10:30 to 11:30 a.m. New York time.
